Nathaniel Hawthorne was an American author born in 1804 and is best known for stories such as The Scarlet Letter, The House of the Seven Gables and The Blithedale Romance. It may not be well-known that he was on friendly terms with such literary stars as Louisa May Alcott, Henry David Thorau and Ralph Waldo Emerson . There were probably some other people with three names as well.
